Your bathroom may be one of the smallest rooms in your home but it is sure to be one that gets plenty of visits and judging looks from any guest to your home. It is very easy to play it safe with your bathroom in order to make sure that it is easy to clean and doesn’t offend any visiting eyes but that could leave it a little dull and not homely in the slightest. The good news is though that with a few simple additions you can bring your bathroom to life and it doesn’t have to be anything drastic.
The bathroom may be forgotten about when it
comes to home improvements but with these quick fixes you can create a stylish
space in next to no time and switch your focus to some of your more preferred
rooms.
Mirrors
You may not feel like you want to see
yourself every time you step out of the bath but mirrors can really make a
space look bigger than it is. With a room that is often only just big enough to
house the shower, sink and toilet; it is important to create the illusion of
extra space. Grouping smaller mirrors together is also a great way to create a
focal point in the room and will help to reflect the light so that it’s not too
dingy.
Splashes
of Colour
The vast majority of bathrooms are coloured
uniformly in white and subtle blues with features such as a bath to match and
this is understandable as it is easy to clean and looks understated. However in
order to add brightness and character to your room you could try some sporadic
splashes of colour. This will mean it’s not too overbearing and will draw your
attention to different areas. Consider shelves in bright colours or storage
units with brightly coloured exteriors.
Heated
Towel Rail
Towels don’t look great draped over the
side of your bath or hung up on the back of the door and they always seem to
still be wet when you want to use them next. To avoid this you could try
storing them in a heated unit such as a towel rail or heated shelves. Some of
the best heated towel rails
on the market will have a towel radiator for you to hang you wet towels
underneath heated shelving space to store your beautifully dry ones ready for
when you need them.
Smarten
Up Your Toiletries
Most people tend to store their toiletries
around the edge of their bath or dotted around the sink but this tends to look
a little shabby and untidy. Grouping them together and maybe even buying them
in matching colours is a great way to tidy your bathroom up. Try not to have
more than one of the same type of toiletry out either as this causes
unnecessary clutter. Don’t be afraid to display them though. Small baskets and
open fronted shelving units are a great way to present your toiletries and will
let visitors see the wealth of options available to them.
